About me
As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE), and Apprentice Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) combined with my background in Education and Nutrition, I have found my life's calling working with families through the antenatal, birth and postpartum period. I work as a Lactation Consultant and Childbirth Educator and teach community classes locally. I am also in private practice offering Lactation services in-home and attend out-of-hospital births with my Midwife preceptors, Mishell Whitacre (Mamacita Birth and Lactation) and Erin Ashley (Intimate Journeys Birth & Wellness) providing Lactation, Childbirth and Infant Care and Safety education, tailored to each family's unique needs,
I support mother’s recovery, give gentle, current evidence-based guidance on infant care and feeding, and provide relevant resources as needed, supporting the whole family in this monumental transition.
As a mother of three (and a Grandma of 4!), I know from experience the value of having a supportive, listening ear and an extra pair of hands walking beside you through these early days of infancy.
I offer in-home, private

Postpartum Doulas
I am no longer providing this service, but valuable info! Please contact me for referrals.
What is a Postpartum Doula?
"Postpartum Doulas fill an important role in providing emotional, physical and evidence-based informational support to the new family after the birth of their baby. The Postpartum Doula works with families in the postpartum period, often called the fourth trimester, offering support, information, instruction, comfort and referrals as needed. Postpartum Doulas support the mother's recovery, give instruction on infant care and feeding and assist with household organization, filling a traditional role sometimes absent in today's modern families." CAPPA
Why Should I Hire a Postpartum Doula?
"As Americans, we are under the impression that new moms are “Superwomen” and can return to life as it was before baby. We must remember to celebrate this new mother and emulate the other cultures that honor new mothers by caring for them, supporting them, and placing value on the magnificent transformation she is going through. This is the greatest gift we can give to new mothers and newborns. A postpartum doula can help bridge the gap of support for new mothers and babies by providing the support and education they need to become confident new mothers."
—Darla Burns, CAPPA Executive Director of Postpartum Doula Programs
